Secret's out, Orchid + Ash is expanding into the world of perfume, and we could not be more excited.
Our perfume line has been in production for just about a year, and it's with good reason. Not only did we want it to smell ah-mazing, we also wanted to offer you a 100% non-toxic, clean and cruelty-free fragrance. This required extensive research, ingredient vetting, and of course, many many test smells.
We finally landed on the first scent of our perfume line, IDYLL, which will be launching January 17th. But that is news for another time.
Why do we feel as strongly about perfumes as we do about home fragrance?
We are so glad you asked.
There are so, so many perfumes on the market, and just like candles, there are so many that just smell so good. But the thing about the perfume industry is it is highly unregulated. Meaning, ingredients are not required to be disclosed, and hundreds of chemicals lie under the simple ingredient "fragrance."
That headache you get from a perfume that is a little too strong? It's actually a minor allergic reaction, so is the nasal irritation. Exposure to these chemicals can lead to even greater repercussions, such as hormonal imbalance, organ damage and even cancer.
Terrifying, we know.
Our biggest word of advice? If it is not explicitly listed as clean, non-toxic or natural, avoid it at all costs.

With not only this knowledge, but a deep knowledge of holistic health, we know that our skin is our biggest organ, and will soak anything that comes in contact with it right up. If we were going to formulate a perfume, it was going to be clean, non-toxic, and safe.
So that's what we did. On top of smelling ah-mazing our fragrances will never, ever include:
- Parabens
- Phthalates
- Hormone + Endocrine Disrupters
- Toxins
- Synthetic Colors
- Gluten
- Animal Products + By-Products
We like to keep it simple, our only perfume ingredients are: denatured alcohol, water, and non-toxic fragrance.
Our perfumes mingle with your skin and bring a unique scent profile, all while leaving the headaches, chemicals and days of leaving everyone coughing the minute you walk out of the elevator, behind.
